Calculation corrections and change log.
This record identifies what changed, which calculators were affected, and whether previously displayed outputs changed. The public log begins August 3, 2026; older product releases are shown separately and are not retroactively labeled as corrections.
What is recorded in the calculation change log?
CalcurHome records a change when it materially affects a formula, unit, conversion, default assumption, source interpretation, worked example, limitation, or displayed result. Each entry states its scope and whether outputs changed. Spelling, layout, and other non-material edits are not presented as formula corrections.
| Change class | What the entry must explain | Output status |
|---|---|---|
| Formula or unit correction | The previous and corrected relationship and affected tools. | State whether earlier results can differ. |
| Default or source update | The changed assumption, evidence, and user-editable boundary. | State which default scenarios can differ. |
| Explanation or result detail | The clarified text or newly exposed intermediate value. | Confirm when the calculation is unchanged. |
What has changed in CalcurHome calculations?
Roofing-square formula now states the complete waste factor
The Roofing Calculator’s displayed formula now writes the purchase-area step as sloped area × (1 + waste ÷ 100) before dividing by 100 square feet per roofing square. The calculator code and numeric results already used that relationship, so this correction changes the explanation but not past outputs.
Previously displayed outputs: No numeric output change recorded for this entry.
Affected calculators: Roofing Calculator
Flagship result panels expose more of the purchase arithmetic
Added supporting result lines for measured perimeter, allowance length, plate-lumber rounding, aggregate compaction and waste, stair geometry, room ceiling area, paint-container rounding, and roofing overage. Primary formulas and headline results did not change.
Previously displayed outputs: No numeric output change recorded for this entry.
Affected calculators: Square Footage Calculator, Stair Calculator, Linear Feet Calculator, Wall Framing Calculator, Crushed Stone Calculator, Recessed Lighting Layout Calculator, Interior Paint Cost Calculator, Roofing Calculator
Public source index and prospective correction record opened
Published a deduplicated index of the external references attached to calculator definitions and opened this dated record for material formula, unit, source, and result changes. Earlier release commits remain product history and are not retroactively presented as calculator corrections.
Previously displayed outputs: No numeric output change recorded for this entry.
Scope: Sitewide transparency infrastructure.
What was released before the public correction log?
These summaries are tied to dated repository releases. They show the platform’s publication history, but do not assert that every file-level edit was a calculator correction.
Project-guide crawl access corrected
Updated crawler rules so public project guides remain discoverable while private account and project data endpoints stay protected.
Post-launch operations and analytics hardened
Added production-readiness checks, backup and restore verification, privacy-aware product reporting, and request-protection coverage.
Nine high-intent planning calculators released
Released recessed-lighting, soffit, attic-ventilation, pond-liner, self-leveling compound, solar cost, interior paint cost, room AC, and pool-evaporation tools with source-aware limitations.
Private accounts and machine-readable references released
Added private project accounts, embeddable calculator views, an expanded LLM reference, and documented calculator API definitions.
Interactive planning and Project Mode released
Added visual result aids, scenario comparison, device-local project planning, and more connected calculator workflows.
Sixty-calculator platform release
Expanded the launch library to 60 calculators and published improved calculator pages, categories, search, methodology, and machine-readable endpoints.
How do I submit a reproducible correction?
Email hello@calcurhome.com with the calculator URL, every input value, the displayed result, the expected result, and a source or independent calculation when available. Do not send private account, property, or payment data.
